Mosaic Literary Conference 2016

The Mosaic Literary Conference is a grassroots event and a great opportunity for the community, educators, students, program administrators, and parents to learn ways to integrate books and reading into the lives of teenagers. MLC offers a mix of informative programs and creative workshops to engage young minds, strengthen literacy, and develop education strategies.

This year’s conference, scheduled for Saturday, November 19, will focus on the influence James Baldwin’s prescient writings continue to have on American culture. The conference will feature film, lesson plans, panels, and workshops.

The Mosaic Literary Conference is presented by the Literary Freedom Project is a Bronx-based, 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit arts organization that seeks to restore the importance of reading books as an essential tool for creating intelligent, productive, and engaged young people.

This event is made possible with public funds from the Bronx Council on the Arts through the New York State Council on the Arts.
